According to a recent report by ANSA, based on data from the European Patent Office (EPO), patent applications for additive manufacturing solutions have seen an average annual increase of around 30% over the past decade. This surge signifies that the total number of requests is six times higher than in other high-tech sectors.
In 2022, the additive manufacturing industry achieved a record-breaking turnover of 16 billion euros, with its primary markets being the United States and Europe. Italy ranks among the top 10 countries in patent applications and holds the second spot in the European Union for industrial installations. These impressive results underscore Italy’s high potential in the additive manufacturing sector, which spans various fields such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biomedical engineering, aerospace, and transport.
These diverse applications will be showcased at piùAdditive, a key event within the 34.BI-MU trade show. Scheduled from October 9 to 12, 2024, at fieramilano Rho, this biennial event covers machine tools, robotics, automation, digital, and additive manufacturing.
For several years, piùAdditive has been the go-to event for manufacturers, distributors, and users of additive solutions. At the last BI-MU edition in 2022, 26% of the 50,000 attendees expressed specific interest in additive manufacturing.
